About the Highway Department

The purpose of the Obion County Highway Department is to provide the citizens with safe roads and bridges. Our county is 556 square miles and 355,840 acres. The department provides maintenance to approximately 742 miles of road, 249 bridges, and 1,355 E-911 signs. Obion County contains approximately 200 State of Tennessee road miles as well as many miles of streets maintained by the individual cities and towns of our county.

Contact us at (731) 885-5960 for all of your road needs or to notify us concerning any hazardous road condition.

Your highway department is "on call" 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies. During off hours/days, we may be notified via the county's E-911 system, or the Obion County Sheriff's Department, which operates 24/7.

Our responsibilities are the construction, care, and maintenance of all roads and bridges on the County Maintenance List. Safe travel for you is our highest priority.
