Welcome to the Obion County, TN Register of Deeds website.  The mission of the Register of Deeds office is to record, preserve, and maintain all public records in accordance with the laws established by the State of Tennessee.  We proofread all documents to ensure they meet recording requirements, and we assign each document an instrument number to be indexed and scanned to create a permanent record.  Most documents are recorded the day they are received and are returned the next day.  We are always looking for new and better ways to serve the citizens, and we welcome your comments and suggestions.

The Register of Deeds is responsible for maintaining public records and documents relating to real estate ownership.

We can provide property owners with a copy of their deed at very little or usually no cost.  Be aware that some companies are sending notices to property owners offering this service at an extravagant price.  Do not fall victim to this scam.

In addition, property owners in Obion County can subscribe to a free service that assists in the early detection of property and land mortgage fraud by visiting the My Land Alert Website.  Register today to start protecting your property.

Some of the documents we record include:  warranty deeds, deeds of trust, military discharge papers (DD214), powers of attorney, affidavits, liens, judgments, notices of completion, and many other documents.  We cannot help you prepare your documents, but we can assist you with the requirements for recording in Tennessee.

We accept cash, checks, or debit/credit cards.
