Welcome to the Obion County, TN Register of Deeds website. The mission of the Register of Deeds office is to record, preserve, and maintain all land records in accordance with the laws established by the State of Tennessee. We proofread all documents to ensure they meet recording requirements, and we assign each document an instrument number to be indexed and scanned to create a permanent record. Most documents are recorded the day they are received and are returned the next day. We are always looking for new and better ways to serve the citizens, and we welcome your comments and suggestions.
We can provide property owners with a copy of their deed at very little or usually no cost. Be aware that some companies are sending notices to property owners offering this service at an extravagant price. Do not fall victim to this scam.
In addition, property owners in Obion County can subscribe to a free service that assists in the early detection of property and land mortgage fraud by visiting www.mylandalert.com or scanning the QR code. Register today to start protecting your property.

Some of the documents we record include: warranty deeds, deeds of trust, military discharge papers (DD214), powers of attorney, affidavits, liens, judgments, notices of completion, and many other documents. We cannot help you prepare your documents, but we can assist you with the requirements for recording in Tennessee.
Veterans - We encourage you to bring your DD214s to the office for recording. This service is free of charge, and we can print and certify a copy for you free of charge. These records are confidential. We thank you for your service.
We accept cash, checks, or debit/credit cards.
